Windows cannot load the drivers

When I connect my Samsung Note 11 Mobile phone I get this error…. This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

Have searched the net for ages but have not come across the solution to my problem like many other frustrated folk.

Hopefully someone here has the solution

Sometimes the USB data gets messed up. See if this helps http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/usb-drive-or-flash-problems-how-to-cleanup-and-remove-old-usb-storage-drivers.145884/ My sister had trouble with her cellphone connecting to laptop after she updated it and this solved the problem.

Also if an XP box it may need to have Media player 11 (or was it 10) installed as that loaded MTP & PTP protocol functionality.
(assumption here is that the note does NOT show up as a usb storage device as my SIII does not)
