This morning I read the first half of the newsletter, an article on passwords by Michael Lasky. When I reloaded the newsletter several hours later, instead of Mr. Lasky’s article, I see “hacked by NG689Skw”. The other article, by Lincoln Spector, appears to be untouched.

I guess nothing’s sacred anymore…

… and it appears all sites affected today are running WordPress.

So they probably haven’t got automatic updates enabled:

Perhaps the hacker is just giving them a hint to do so?

So is there anything we should be concerned about, or anything we should be doing such as deleting the newsletter? Is this just a case of the article being changed by the hacker or is there any infection involved? Does it affect the website newsletter only or the one that’s emailed?

Isn’t it something that Windows Secrets/Penton should have mentioned by now?

Just the article defacement, I think.
