        For something running in the background that you might not be aware of, I suggest the free Process Explorer from Microsoft. I have it set to startup along with the system and it sits in the system tray of every Windows PC that I configure. All white is good. Colors without my doing anything indicate trouble.

        Image backups taken when all is well, means there there is no need to catalog software or save license keys. And, image backups protect against both hardware and software problems.
