Yes the Win 10 forum is slow compared to the rest (about 9 or 10 seconds for me).

The subforums are all pretty much instant.

      Woody?

Sorry, you’re now above my pay grade. Hope somebody else can help.

I’ve tried doing this and it works as expected – so it is probably not a bug. As you’ve tried most other things, it might indicate your pst is the culprit. You say that it’s not possible to create a new pst, but this web page seems to say it is. If this isn’t the answer I hope some else can chime in.

You could create three zip files containing the files you think are the most personal or confidential.

Witness MS Word, where it used to be the case that you launched the program and could immediately start typing in a new document. Now you have to click on “Blank Document” first.

File/ options/ general tab. Page down to start up options and make sure ‘Show start screen…’ is unticked

      Import & Export

      • Import data seamlessly from Microsoft® Outlook, Sidekick®, Lotus Organizer®, Day-Timer Organizer®, previous versions of AnyTime, and other organizers
      • Import addresses, phone numbers, and contacts

At $39.99 they say seamlessly – I would ask them how it can be seamlessly. I’m with Paul on this one. However to export your calendar as a csv, go to File,  Open & Export, Import/export, export to a file, csv, select calendar, then choose your destination. There are a couple of caveats though (recurring appointments being one it seems).

Google for most used passwords and make sure you don’t use any of them! RG’s password above doesn’t appear in the 10,000 most used passwords (unsurprisingly).

The other thing is that you should never use the same password on more than the one site.

Personally I don’t think changing passwords helps at all, unless you’ve been told that the site in question has been hacked, but the breach is now fixed.

And of course, the mathematicians will tell you that most random passwords aren’t random but pseudo random, but this is me being pedantic.

And if you use password reset and they send you the unencrypted  password, they haven’t encrypted it – so I would suggest it’s not a website you would want to use. This happened to me once (actually they confirmed the password in an email when I registered). I told them this was a big security risk, but they just said that they were a new site and hadn’t set these things up. I didn’t use them again.

      Have you tried

      dir /s/b/o:n/A:D > f.txt

from a cmd window? Then import into Excel.

I expect there’s a Powershell version as well, but that’s a trifle above my pay grade!

Ahh, Douglas Adams – therefore let’s not forget Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. First the brilliant radio show, the great TV series and the film, which was good. To those of us who listened to the radio series, the following attempts were a bit lacking. This was because of those who played the parts were indelibly marked on our memories (well it was for me!)

Peter Jones as the guide was just too good. Was it really 1978 it was broadcast? And 1981 the TV series? Wow!

I was under the impression that this had been fixed, and a quick experiment to see how quick getting forums is has shown it to be the case for me. Are you still getting delays?

As is Libre Office, which I believe many think is better as it’s still being developed. But both fall down if you want a real relational database though. As for DVDs, I don’t miss them.

I have no experience of this. I’ve Googled and found this page. Perhaps an answer might be there.

Try modifying your user folder. It seems strange that you don’t have other folders on your c drive… Or am I missing something here?

On the one occasion I used this procedure, or something similar, it told me it had found the FH files and did I want to use them. Can you see the files in your external disk using file manager? Also check FH settings to see if it’s looking for the correct drive. Other than that I can’t help.
