Why did you replace the battery if it is only ever used on mains?

      cheers, Paul

While the battery was still charging to 100% when opening the laptop in order to add RAM the service noticed that the battery was bulging and not safe to use.
The service removed the battery and I needed a new one in case of winter power cuts.

My 4+ years Lenovo laptop is 24/7/365 plugged to power. Never shut down or disconnected.
Replaced battery a couple of months ago. Bought compatible battery (https://www.ibuybattery.com/laptop-battery.htm) as Lenovo doesn’t manufacture them any more.

I set Group Policy to not show Previews.

Tried installing manually after clearing SoftwareDistribution folder. Same result.

The ad should be removed not “fixed”

Is there a way to check

      Open Windows update.
You will see ‘Some settings are managed…’ and ‘View configured update policies’. Click on that and you will get a list GPEdit changes you set.

I thought that the full screen ad was a bug.

I am sure is has been done intently just like the ‘X’ on Windows 10 from Windows 7 upgrade.

I read here not to use GRC In Control when using Winshowhide

You don’t need InControl on Windows Pro. Just set TRV in GPEdit.

Try fixing the GPEdit problem by running DISM Check health , DISM Restore health and SFC Scannow.

Perhaps the most important component of Tor – and other VPNs – is the encryption of traffic as it travels from its originating device to the VPN’s server(s).

      I haven’t found anything I can’t do with Tiny11.

You must know that the big cut in OS storage space was due to the removal of winsxs (mine is 9.8GB in size) which will disable Windows from restoring drivers, dll files…But is part of the “price” to pay 🙂
