Could it be that you have DOM storage disabled in your browsers? See Günter Born’s article here.

As far as I’m aware it’s enabled (see attached screen shot).

Interesting article, but if I’ve got DOM storage enabled as I think I have then it means there is something else causing the problem on my setup.

Just to make things more interesting (or confusing), all’s OK on my wife’s computer which is identical in relation to hardware, and pretty close to the same regarding software (Win 7 SP1, with all except the January 2018 updates).  BUT, obviously, there’s a niggling little difference somewhere that’s causing this frustration.

If you’re able, perhaps you could use Firefox’s Browser Console to tell us if both of the domains mentioned in my previous post are actually having content retrieved from.

Not sure if I’m able; have never done it, so it will take quite some time to do if I try it, I assume.

All being well I’ll give it a go later when I’ve got some free time.

Neither of them present in the hosts file.

It’s been happening for the last couple of days – at least – that I know of, and I had restarted the computer more than once in that time.

Anyway, just to be sure I’ve restarted the computer again, but the result’s the same – using your link to an older article or any of several other links.

      Exact same thing.

      Thanks! So do I.

Like I said in reply to Kirsty – got it now – think I’m going blind in my old age.

      Hi Kirsty,

Thanks! Got it now – think I’m going blind in my old age.

All’s good – until next time, when I’ve forgotten about it and can’t see for looking! 🙂

      Hi,

Sorry I’m late to this discussion, but I’ve just come across it and I’ve got a query regarding the first graphic in Elly’s post (Elly.jpg).

When I login I don’t see anything similar – should I? Blushing, and offering apologies in advance, I have to admit that I’m using IE11, in case that makes any difference. 🙂

      Thank you jmwoods.

I’ve checked out the filehippo web site and the WLM 2011 download, but not run it (because I already have it installed). Just wanted a copy stashed away for a rainy day, as suggested by CanadianTech. 🙂

However, I’m worried that the download is only a stub, and will try to connect to MS to download the whole program, which would be a waste of time because it’s no longer supported. Like JohnR, I’m after the full offline installer for Windows Live Mail 2011.

Do you know if the filehippo file is the full offline installer or only a stub?

      Cheers,

      G’day,

I regularly use doPDF to print from many Windows programs to a PDF file, and I’ve tried it with your workbook and it looks fine to me (see attachment).

IMHO doPDF, available at http://www.dopdf.com, is an extemely useful program – free, and a small download (and I don’t have any connection with the company that produces it). Unlike many of the other PDF printer programs this one doesn’t rely on Ghostscript.

    • Suzie,

There is a known ‘bug’ in Excel 2003 when importing dates in the dd/mm/yyyy format when importing from a CSV file using VBA. See Knowledgebase article 911750 – “The format of the dates is incorrect when you use a VBA macro to convert a CSV text file in Excel 2003” – for details.

I am in Australia and encountered a problem similar to yours. I got the Hotfix mentioned in the KB article but decided not to use it because it was a lot older than my version of Excel (due to updates, Security patches, etc.) and was worried that applying it would cause more trouble than it was worth.

I opted to use the code modification (add the parameter to your VBA macro) as specified in the KB article, and everything worked fine after that.

      HTH

      Regards,

      John
