Check your Windows Update queue again. KB4524244 doesn’t show until everything else is gone.

geekdom is absolutely Correct (for Me) about KB4524244 (the “UEFI” patch) NOT showing UNLESS you Check for Updates again AFTER all other Updates have Inst’d. Would have missed it & Thanks again! Took 3 seconds to load and no typical install steps occurred after that.

1909 … Images at Ready I installed the Feb SSU, CU, MSRT, and Adobe Flash Upgrade — and Search has Never failed to Work.

New HP (ethernet) 1709 Desktop  in Feb ’19, and W10 so far Is the best OS I’ve ever used (SSD/HDD combo helps). With Images for WU never used , I haven’t delayed a WU / Ver Upgrade yet.

Pursue ISO as desired ….. but in my first Win 10 Ver Upgrade my “Stuck on 91%” install was remedied by DIS-abling, not Uninstalling as some did, my ESET, Mbam, and SuperAS security Apps. Worth a try, and I had several Macrium Images made B4 I started all of the Upgrade. I Have NOT Disabled Security Apps since, but that time it was required.

A regimen of regular drive imaging makes unobstructed, non-delayed patching/updating a non-issue for home users.  There’s a quick and easy fix just a few clicks away.  I’m among the overwhelming majority of users who are unaffected by updates other than being up-to-date with everything Microsoft offers my systems.

I don’t patch because of “dire predictions of doom”, I patch because a patch is available, and it has been my experience that the only updates to avoid are driver updates.  Get those from the device manufacturer, if necessary.

I was setup FOR Driver Updates and changed it via Control Panel (below for others who want to). Thanks for the reminder. But – While HP is great about warning of Security/function Driver Issues – I’m Still waiting on 95% of the alleged Updates…..

      Con Panel/System/Adv System Settings/Hardware Tab/Device Install Settings……..

With Macrium Images ready …  I Chk’d and first got the KB4534132 Net Frmwk alone; The 2nd Chk produced KB4532695 Jan CU.

Copy/Paste to Explorer Search works BUT I don’t know IF I ever had a problem. My Feb ’19 new desktop continues a perfect W10 WU record.

Inst’d to 1909 via this Thread’s Link and No Issues.

Edge is usually used Just to “Test/Compare” when FF has “quirky behavior” issues. Wonder IF MS will ever allow “Switch immediately to New Tab when opened” as FF allows? You’d think the majority wants to See WHAT they JUST Clk’d on / would drive me nuts IF I used it much at all……

Another 1909 WU without issues (Jan CU, MSRT, Net Frmwk 4.8, Svc Stack). Images were ready. 18363.592

Are you encountering the File Explorer Search bug?

No, although with an SSD/HDD combo an SSD article led me to Turn OFF Search Indexing, IF THAT matters / Cortana Never Active …. Just did a test search & all remains well.

SOLVED: In the Desktop Properties Security Tab I gave — Everyone — Full Control rights and a test app Dnloaded to the Desktop. As usual, makes no sense to me since I’m always in the Admin Acct.

Thanks, Paul. All are chk’d with Full Control designated.

I DID Dnload to Desktop with the Admin Backup Acct but my 5/10 expertise doesn’t allow much analysis beyond that. Was just hoping a duplicate issue had been fixed by someone prior & I can live with it if needed. Thanks again.

Made 2 Images and Clk’d Dnload – Whole process took 2 seconds so this is some unique update that probably merits no big research. Didn’t show in Control Panel WU History BUT does in Settings and a WU View App I have.

No disrespect to contributors here but I’m Certain if No Fix found here & you sign-up and post at Macrium Forum that your solution will evolve. They are quite use to the topic. Tell them Free failed and I need Help.

Every New Computer Transfer I’ve read of on M Forum involves use of Redeploy Module of PAID-Only Macrium and it’s used WITHIN the PE CD/USB Rescue Media Boot environment. The Image is Transferred and THEN Redeploy is used B4 Re-start to — as Mentioned Prior — Install REQUIRED Drivers that MATCH the NEW Hardware. I think you must FIND / Save the Required New Drivers and steer Redeploy TO THEM – it’s Not automatic. As an amateur, That would be my Everest. Also, the Assumption IS that you are Including the Boot Mgr Partition in ALL of your attempts, NOT to mention the New Drive – Does MS Win License Care / Reject use on New Drive?

Just reading about Redeploy steps and the Transfer Issues it mentions MAY give someone the better perspective to Brain-storm into a solution IF the Macrium Forum is not used.

My readings from PathCleaner site suggest this best for experts. One guy’s Office ’10 won’t load Security Updates apparently from “Stuff” removed by PathCleaner / “Not Installed” results in Update attempts; Some active Registry members removed as “Orphans” that aren’t, etc. Backup first IF you use this. A LOT of GB removed but Uh-Oh’s are possible.

Happy to re-state that My issue free use of Win 10 is likely from a new desktop purchase Feb ’19 Vs Upgrading from Vista / W7, and the W10 upgrades to 1803, 1809, 1903, and 1909 couldn’t have been easier. Macrium images never used.

NOT an expert, I’d be exhausted & my brain would be mush playing Defense all the time with Win 7, and a sale at Best Buy got me ($689 + tax) HP desktop i5-8400 12G w/ 256G SSD + 1 TB HDD….  BIG SSD fan Now for Win + Apps.  BUY IF $$ allow and current W7 unit  is 6+ yrs as mine was; maybe buy anyway.
