AskWoody LoungerApril 2, 2019 at 4:30 pm in reply to: MS-DEFCON 4: It’s time to get Windows and Office patched #348233Just installed KB4489878, KB4474419, KB890830 with no problems. Didn’t see KB4493132 offered. Win 7 Pro, SP1, Grp. A, i7Core “Haswell”.
I had KB4493132 showing in the optional updates for April so I hid it.
I did not have to go and look for KB 4490628 because a short while after I had installed KB4489848, KB4474419 & KB890830 – KB4490628 suddenly appeared – save me going to look for it 🙂

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 25, 2019 at 12:31 pm in reply to: Office 365 experiences widespread outages Thursday, January 24, 2019 #316566Yes I have been having problems with 365 Email for a week or so. It sometimes tells me that something is causing problems stopping it contact my ISP other times it tells me that it is not replying quick enough – anyway what I do is to wait till the report finishes without downloading emails – then I start again asking for them and this time it does the right thing and downloads the emails. Not had any problems with sending emails at all.

AskWoody LoungerNovember 1, 2018 at 12:34 pm in reply to: What happened to KB 4462923, the October Win7 Monthly Rollup? #229255The Servicing Stack Update KB3177467 v2 needs to be installed by itself and before the KB4462923 October Rollup. Did you install it first?
Group A Win7 SP1 UK
Hello just to let you know that KB4462923 has turned up again ticked up as an important
update – after being absent for 3 weeks or so. Will wait till we are told by Woody to go ahead and install it ……

Heavenly
AskWoody LoungerThe Servicing Stack KB3177467 is “exclusive.” It won’t show up in the “important” update queue until all other updates are installed or hidden. Hide all the other updates and search, it will show up. Unhide the updates you have just hidden, and it is no longer available.
Win 7 SP1 Group A – UK
After the roll up update vanished I was left with the Malicious Tool Update which I installed today. After I installed it KB3177467 appeared – I checked on my already installed updates and this update showed in September 2016. So I thought I would take a chance and install it it was only just over 9 mbs. Did not have to restart pc after I had installed it and when I checked my installed updates the September 2016 one had disappeared.
LOL

AskWoody LoungerI just checked my installed updates for KB3177467, it was installed September 21, 2016 but I will still wait for the all clear.
I just checked mine and I have it installed in September too 🙂 But will still wait till we get the all clear before installing the September ones this year 🙂

AskWoody LoungerJune 3, 2018 at 7:51 am in reply to: MS-DEFCON 3: Time to patch, but be aware of Network-busting bugs in Win7 #195698Well… I just did the update on my Win 7 home premium PC (group A). Not network issues but my PC is now INSANELY slow. Takes over 2 minutes to boot to desktop and a minute to shut down. Takes a long time to open chrome and open files in general. I’m gonna roll back, this just isn’t working out for me!
I did the updates Group A win7 sp1 home premium – all installed ok.
But after the restart I notice a red notice on the malwarebytes icon on the task bar – opened it and was had a notice on there telling me that updates were not current, which surprised me because they were updated before I installed the MS updates.
So I restarted my pc twice more and got the same problem. So sent an email off to Malwarebytes and closed my pc down. This afternoon I started my pc – no red sign on my icon opened malwarebytes and it auto started to update with no problems.
So all is working fine again – thank you Woody and Susan Bradley for your work again – and all the others that take the time to try and help us 🙂

AskWoody LoungerKB 4100480 does plug the hole. But it also has lots of problems.
I have win7 SP1 and use A roll ups
I have installed KB4054998 on 6th february
KB4074598 on 6th March
KB100480 on 4th April
I have KB 4093118 waiting to be installed or not
I have incurred no problems whatsoever – so far have installed them as and when you have told us to do so – do I have to remove anything?
