Hi,when i was still a newbie with computers – not that long ago – and found myself thanks to an Windows Update screw – up needing to do an image recovery,i printed out the following how – to and it all went swimmingly easy,simply following the instructions.

I have, a couple of years ago i restored the system with the Windows backup image

and it all worked perfectly,no problems at all.

Well Woody,i installed all Windows 7 Updates on my laptop

a day after your ‘ go ahead ‘ – wish i had waited longer –

but everything works just fine,haven’t noticed any problems YET !

Hope it stays that way and will forthwith wait longer after your ‘ ok ‘to update.

Yes,i suspected this might be it

i had done that shortly before the problem arose,

And after Woody gave the ok to update for this month,

i did so again 2 days ago and wonder of wonders

yesterday the problem went away all by itself.

So everything is back in order now.
