I first heard John Prine while living in San Francisco and attending San Francisco State University. He had just released Sweet Revenge, which was getting a lot of airplay at the time. The one tune from that album that caught my ear above all others was The Accident (Things Could Be Worse). I do believe that he never recorded an album that I don’t now own. Were I to list all my favourite songs, I’d be here for several hours. Ain’t none of ’em I don’t like.

0patch replied to say that the script they first provided was for cmd.exe and would not work in PowerShell, so they provided an PS script that worked just fine.

Oh HO! I just ran across the 0patch Agent item on the 0patch website. I’ll do the workaround and see how things go.

I am progressively disenchanted with Firefox. I just put 73.0 on my WinX 1909 machine and now FF refuses to run: crash, reload, crash, reload, …

Is anyone else having problems with the new FF? Any advice as to what I should/could do to restore my system? Chredge????

When I clicked on the WinX version using Firefox 77 via a Canadian service, I get offered a German version. A straight load in Chrome 79 doesn’t do anything. Brave 1.2.42 offers me Italian. Waterfox 2019.12 offers me a Russian — or at least Cyrillic — version. Would that I were multilingual….

P.S. Just tried Edge and it offered me an English version. Whodduh thunkit!

Hmmmm….. I was going to ask whether this buy was a good thing or a bad thing. So far, it doesn’t look like a good thing. Guess it’s time to find another PW manager. Merry Freakin’ Christmas. Humbug, I tell you. Humbug!

Installed KB4490481 yesterday with no apparent problems. My WinX Pro system was slow to boot this morning, but it did boot without a BSOD. Praise Gaia!

I’ve been having what appear to be similar problems with my 1809 (17763.379) installation. Can’t tell if it’s WinX, hardware or software based!

I love the idea, Woody! You’re more than welcome to use my small contribution to help support your philanthropy.

Some 30-odd friends — yes, they’re odd, too — and I have been making Kiva loans to third-world women since 2010. In that time, we’ve turned US$4,770 in deposits into 824 loans, each at US$25, totaling US$20,675 so far. We currently have a portfolio of just under US$2,000. Our plan is to recycle every dollar into future loans.

We’ve — actually, I’ve — focused on third-world women because it’s one quick way to build resilience in those we support while at the same time strengthening families and communities. It not only feels good, it does good!
