Try this method to not open the ‘Backstage’ when clicking that QA entry:

Navigate to your Options – Save – Check: Don’t show backstage when opening or saving files . . . . .

      Try this method:

Open File Explorer and navigate to the ‘Microsoft’ folder which contains the Template folder.

Expand the ‘Quick Access’ menu if it isn’t already, then locate the Template folder and then drag its shortcut to the QA.

Now open Word and use your normal method to browse for/access different folders/files, then locate the Template folder in the ‘QA’, then select your template to subsequently use.

Don’t use the File > Save As option.
Add a ‘Save As’ to the Ribbon and/or the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar) or simply press the F12 key to get a ‘Save As’ Window showing the Quick Access menu.

    • I replied to what you posted.
It is a major fault of this forum that posters can edit a post after someone has replied to it.
Leaving personal identifiable information (PII) behind is not what ‘I’ do.
You just might be surprised if you knew what this forum collects about you OscarCP (and of course me and others) but you don’t seem to mind that.
To each their own as some might say.

    • So that looks like a good reason to stick with the ‘Attachment’ method, no?

      A good reason why?

    • in reply to: EXCEL 2019 Theme? #2402382

The ‘Office Background(s)’ in the Ribbon are what you can select in the options if you are signed into an account. If you aren’t, they are not available to select.
The image below, in Word, shows the Calligraphy (calligraphy scrolls) option being used.
The Excel animation above shows Straws being used.

    • I’m actually aware of what can be done when the Edit option is available.
My question was can you remove the image in the post that I have pointed to above?
I suspect that you can’t remove it because you have used the ‘Attachment’ method.
If you look at my post above:

      #post-2402329 with the image:

. . . . . . you’ll see it has now gone. There is no Edit option in that post due to timing, but as I didn’t use the ‘Attachment’ method, I have more control who sees it. That’s my point.

With Excel open, try going to File > Options > Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office > Office Theme > Dropdown menu > Change to suit > OK

    • . . . if I attach the wrong file, I can then remove it . . .

Out of interest, the image you have posted/shown in the link below (August 26, 2021), you say you can remove it – how are you going to do that?

      #post-2386074

    • The way to go is to not use the ‘Attach’ file method in the first place.
Use a file/image hosting site and you have more control of what you can do with a file/image that is on show in the forum.

    • in reply to: How to choose default program to open pdf files ? #2400611

An easy way to make Sumatra default viewer is to simply right click a PDF > Properties, or select a PDF and click then the Properties tab in the Ribbon, or press the Alt + Enter keys.
Click the Change tab in the opening dialog box, then select SumatraPDF (or other of a user’s choice), then OK > OK.

You can use this method for other programs that are wanted to be default viewers/editors/processors/etc.

Have a look at this post to see how easy it is to create a ‘simple-basic’ System Image of the drive partitions needed to backup and restore Windows.

      https://www.askwoody.com/forums/topic/using-windows-10-backup-option/#post-2336609

You appear to not want to tell folks what options/settings/process you are actually using for your own reason(s). You simply are saying you have ‘ran a backup’. Just how have you done that?
It isn’t easy for anyone to help you with this unless you say what you have done and particularly if any settings have been changed from default.

Image just takes too long – what to do?

Firstly, I’d explain to any would-be helper what exactly you are doing (the process/what options used) after you have connected the external drive and after you have opened Macrium Reflect.

If I have a drive that I intend to Image that is 1TB C Drive (592GB Free) and if I use the wrong options/select the wrong drives to Image, I can have a time of 112 hours, as in the example below.
If I select the drive I actually want to Image, then that time comes down to 47 Minutes!
