Sorry i’m not native english speaking and I hate abreviations and acronyms.

AskWoody LoungerOctober 19, 2022 at 8:09 pm in reply to: Windows 11 22H2 ‘runs like magic’ on 12-years old i5-580m #2490428My computer is a 10 year old Dell XPS 8300.
Actually I have a legacy Bios and a 1 terabyte SSD with MBR partitionning.
So my question is: When I make my Win 11 USB installation key with Rufus, do I select MBR or GPT.

AskWoody LoungerOctober 6, 2021 at 10:58 am in reply to: Microsoft : How to install Windows 11 on incompatible PCs #2394153Windows 10 can be upgraded to RTM Windows 11 simply by using the Windows 10 installation media with the \sources\install.wim (or \sources\install.esd) replaced with the same file from the Windows 11 installation media
Can you write a topic that explain the exact steps to do that.

AskWoody LoungerThe article say “System firmware UEFI, Secure Boot capable” so that means older PC with legacy BIOS won’t be compatible. What a good marketing strategy to force people to buy a new computer.
It suck’s.2 users thanked author for this post.

AskWoody LoungerI think I know what happened. When I was on 1909, I have installed a group policy editor that adds it to Home version and when I upgraded to 20H2, it has been disabled !
