Thanks Paul…I already do that with True Image..
I have daily backups scheduled for every day to another HDD…

I plan to continue that practice after this new build…

Coochin, In this case I want to do a new install..

    • in reply to: Installing Solid State Drive #1578709

I’ll check out the link Paul.

Actually, I think I am just gonna install everything on the SSD and just use my traditional hard drives for images of the SSD.
Then, if and when the SSD fails I can just pop in another SSD and install the image to it and be back in business.

Thanks Jim…I kinda suspected that but being new to SSD’s I was unsure.
I make images daily so loss wont be a factor.

I’ll install everything on my SSD and keep all the data from the programs on the SSD on my hard drive.
Actually, the SSD is bigger then my current HD so I can keep everything on it and image to a HD for when I need it.

Thanks again, you have cleared things up for me..

I run scans..Usually just find a few PUPS..
From what I understand, almost all of that crypto stuff and ransomware need to have the recipient click on something or open an attachment.
I never open anything no matter who sends it to me.

If I go to a new site or from a Google search I usually go sanboxed until I’m sure it’s safe..

I know anything can happen but I just try to be cautious, maybe too much so.

    • I have several computers and have never received a phone call in over 20 years from anyone offering support.
I have received other scam calls though.= but nothing computer related..

If you make daily images you don’t need to worry about all this crap.
      Unless I’m missing something here.

I only see what is in the pic..
It could be I’m blocking it…I’ll check now…

I have that site on my restricted list in IE..Probably because of some reason or other..I have forgotten why. It could be because it auto refreshes every minute like the Drudge site does..

      Anyway, thanks…It clears things up..

I have read you can always run the install sandboxed and see what happens..I never have and really don’t understand how it’s done.

Actually I believe any ‘folders’ created on the Gmail side are called labels…

    • in reply to: Best site(s) to d/l software #1558522

CSMART, I don’t trust any of them anymore…As I said above, I always try to go to the authors site and always do a CUSTOM install if the option it given.

I also scan all downloads before I run them.

Well Roland, I didn’t have any problem navigating EMclient. It was just two basic for me and having to buy two licenses were a bit much.
My TB also got messed up also so I was looking for another mail program and came across that one.
I just un-installed TB and re-installed it and now it works fine. My problem with TB was I never upgraded it from 3.1..LOL And when I finally did all hell broke out…

    • in reply to: Replacement for Thunderbird required #1558412

Phebe, I tried emclient also but you can only install it on one computer and they want you to buy a license for each computer..Too expensive..Besides, I really didn’t like it that much..Very limited customization in it.

I also hacked Windows mail in 7…Don’t use it because of security reasons.

I’ll just stick with TB for now..At least it works and it’s free.

    • I have a few exceptions also like my bank and a few others..I just have very few problems with ABP..Annnnd, the price is right too!

    • Well Sudo, I guess that settles that..
      Thanks.
