I found this and applied last night. I don’t know yet if this fixed my issue as my machine would follow this scenario every 4 or 5 days, Blank (Black) screen when trying to come out of Monitor power down mode. When I try to wake the system by moving the mouse/keyboard my monitor syncs up, (based on Monitor Display LED indicators) and there is occasional disk activity. One thing that I have not tried when this occurs is this: Press Windows/Start Key –> Right Arrow Key–> Right Arrow Key–> R Key –>Enter. This should reset your machine.
