Just found an article on it finally in the MS Knowledge Base. It’s an acknowledged bug in IE6 on NT machines….Article ID: Q298752

Thanks for your help. Although this still doesn’t explain why the interface is the same as before…

It does not show up. That or the improved interface. I have other signs that I have IE6 installed ie. the locking toolbars, security, cookie watch etc. But the media bar is not there. And the interface looks the same as it did in 5.5. I was wondering if that was because I have Windows Media Player 6.4 (that is the latest available for an NT machine). Or just because it’s an NT machine.

Okay, one last question: how do I cycle through each row in the spreadsheet to run that check? I have about 1500 rows to go through. Thanks for your help. I think I’m almost there!

Okay, I’ve cut and pasted some of the data. Again, some of the dates import okay from here (the mm/dd/yyyy) and any others do not. It is attached: tblSample.xls

Actually, that is my problem… Doing exactly what you described above was not changing the cells formatting. Can you tell me in what situations it might not change it so I might be able to write a macro to fix?

      Thanks!

      Rory,
Is there anyway to make sure the fields from the spreadsheet map to a particular field in Access. I am automating a monthly import and the clients have a different name for the two of the fields…

Thank you! There was a wealth of info there and it guided me to a few others at the MS site that helped too.

      Charlotte,
Thanks! Appreciate it. Never was strong with my Case statements – so I never think of them!

In case anyone runs across this problem, I found the answer on MSDN – Article # Q208850. The second case solved this dilemma with a little bit of tweaking.

I do have a soundcard installed. This problem just started a little while ago – so I wasn’t sure if there was a conflict, driver or something else. It does have a joystick port – but I don’t use it. Will it affect anything when I record sounds?

Okay – thanks! Now we’re onto something – when I mute the Midi input the sound goes away. Do you know where I would go from here – since its not an actual physical input?
