      You forgot that 32 bit windows will normally only user 3 out of 4 Gbytes available, the other Gbyte is lost to the I/O pages.
      This allocation can be reduced by a setting in the boot.ini file.

      Sounds like it might be the hub. Try plugging the device directly into the USB port on the BACK of the PC and see if that makes a difference…

      That’s a little hard to do, the hub are internal on the mother board, the 12 USB ports available externally are all through the hubs.

      I have the same problem on one computer. It has an ASUS mother board P5Q, the USB arrangement is two intern hubs (which show up as USB 2.0) each with 6 USB ports all of which show up as USB 1.1

      I’ve found it quicker to transfer files via Ethernet to an other machine than to use a USB hard drive directly on this machine.

      Every think seems to check out, standard intel drivers, BIOS setup is for USB2.0,
