Hi Trev, in the past, I swore by WL Mail as I liked the calendar feature, it would remind me by email of events I entered on either of my 2 computers. As this feature has ended due to end of support, I now use the calendar in Google. I use Thunderbird portable on both computers. I never liked it at first but now its not as bad as I first thought.

Hi Trev, WL Mail had its built-in safety features i.e. my contacts were regarded as safe, their was also a section for ‘Safe’ & ‘Blocked’ senders. When WLM was being updated, I still had to look in my Gmail account to see if anything was put in the ‘Spam’ folder.

I always thought WL Mail was a ‘tool’ for getting & sending mail only, using the servers for whichever email client you use.
I used it with Gmail but now use Thunderbird portable.

Thanks, I also have Avast but dont use it’s software updater plus a few other items it includes as it slows down my slow pc.

I have been using PSI version 2.0.0.4003 for long enough. It never indicated that a new version was available. I got notice of the new version 3.0 here long ago.

Having just read this thread, I realised I was also using FileHippo’s App Manager. Could this cause any problem?

Sorry, you lost me. What are you referring to? There is no setting for Sync Frequency or a button for Sync Now.

Thank you all for your input. Unfortunately I never got notified of your posts. I found somewhere that if I left WU searching for updates for long enough, it would eventually correct it’s self & that’s exactly what happened.

I use Gmail in Windows Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331) on both my pc’s. I have not as yet been sent an email from MS and both are working perfectly.
