ASKWOODY ALERT!

It’s time to make sure your February patches are installed

Microsoft hasn’t fixed one well-known bug in the February Win10 patches, but you should install the updates anyway.

If after adding the February cumulative update for Win10 Version 1903 or 1909 you end up with a wiped-out desktop, you’ve hit a known problem with a reasonably straightforward fix. Microsoft hasn’t acknowledged the bug anywhere except a short part of an Answers Forum post but, hey, we’re talking Microsoft here … yes?

If you had automatic updating turned on in February, you likely got stung by a buggy patch that knocked out many HP computers. Just one more good reason to pause updates. Let others take the first fire.
