ASKWOODY ALERT!

We’re at MS-DEFCON 2: Time to batten down the hatches

I hope you managed to get your systems updated in the past couple of days, because tomorrow brings a new round of suboptimally-tested patches.

There’s a rumor floating around that tomorrow’s Patch Tuesday (January 14) will include one very important update. If that happens, I’ll let you know as soon as we can track it down. But statistically, it’s far more likely that we’ll get another round of patches that tie some PCs in knots — and possibly even break more than a few.

As usual, I suggest blocking updates until we’re sure we’re past any lurking dangers. Do you really want to be part of the monthly crowd-sourced patch beta testing?
