I’m not sure where to post this problem, but I hope that someone can help. I have a FaceBook account that I have used almost every day for many years. Recently, I was working on an unrelated problem and “Cleared the cache” of my browser. Facebook then required me to log in again, which I tried to do. But FaceBook then said that my password had been changed long ago and I needed to supply a new password. But I didn’t remember the new password. Then Facebook said that it would send me a verification code by email. But I had also changed my email address and I no longer have access to the old email address that I had used with Facebook. I never used Facebook on my cell phone and so Facebook doesn’t have any cell phone number for me either. I read various Facebook help web pages for how to recover a Facebook account but they all seem to require logging on first, which I can’t do. So the only thing I have is an old email address and an old password. Is there any way that I can recover my Facebook account? Thanks for any suggestions.

Do you have a friend who can help to report your lost access?

AskWoody PlusOctober 8, 2023 at 1:02 pm #2592606From what I understand, the only way in your situation to get back with Facebook is to start a new account profile. Had you kept the old email address and made note of your password, I can see where you wouldn’t have a problem getting back to your account. But unfortunately, based on what you’re saying, you most likely would need to start over and leave the other profile account hanging. If you do decide to create a new FB account, make note of your log in info and when making any changes, note that also. One thing to keep in mind, log out after each session, and keep all sign in credentials handy. If you decide to create a new account, try filing a “Report” with Facebook on your previous account. Not sure it will do any good but it’s worth a shot.

AskWoody LoungerOctober 9, 2023 at 7:21 am #2592703Problem solved !!!! I entered Facebook into the search bar at the bottom of the Windows 10 screen and discovered a file where I had documented the Facebook password change. I entered the password contained in this file and it worked !!!!! Thanks for your help and suggestions. I am even more firmly resolved to document everything !
