Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody LoungerMarch 7, 2019 at 3:02 pm #338707For whatever reason WSUS does not pull this during a sync. I would need to import it from the Windows Catalog. I logged into one of the servers and had it check Microsoft for updates and it then began downloading that patch. UGH! So then I scrambled to stop windows update service.
I just ran a manual sync on WSUS and it doesn’t pull that update. As mentioned I’d have to import it to make it available in WSUS.

AskWoody PlusMarch 7, 2019 at 3:59 pm #3387344487006 was not published to WSUS. You have to manually import it. Funny thing is, 7006 supposedly fixes BSOD issues in the 7026 CU:
“Addresses a reliability issue with win32kfull.sys introduced in KB4487026.”
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4487006/windows-10-update-kb4487006Now 7006 is also causing BSODs on a slightly different driver (win32kbase.sys).
I had installed 7006 (which supercedes 7026) on our 2016 production servers to avoid the BSOD issues in 7026 but apparently that was wishful thinking. Around and around we go. When will it stop? Nobody, not even at Microsoft, knows.
