Can someone advise how to get page numbers to print. I searched knowledge base and they said to set the page set up footer .7cm from edge – that doesn’t work either. Thank you in anticipation.

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 1, 2002 at 4:12 pm #560964Well it would depend on your printer, but I would have thought that 0.7 cm was too close to the bottom edge of the paper – it would be on mine, and any footer text including page numbers just wouldn’t print. 1.5 cm would be more like it. I suggest you experiment a bit. Set your bottom margin to be really quite wide, say 3 cm, with a footer at say 2.5 cm. Make sure you really are putting a page number correctly in the footer. (One way would be to go to View –> Header and Footer, then click the ‘Switch between header and footer’ button to get into the footer, then click the page number button – the one with a # on it.) If that works, try again with smaller margins and smaller distance of the footer from the edge, until you find out what is too close, because it doesn’t print right. Once you have found that out, you can edit your Normal.dot template and set the distance to the right amount , so that it is always right in new documents.
Hope this helps. If not, please explain the problem more fully.

Doesn’t work, this is too weird.
here is my page set up (which included a print autofix of bottom from 3.17 to 3.19)
top 2.54
bottom 3.19
left 3.17
right 3.17
header 1.27
footer 1.27
I can see the page number in the print preview
all that prints is a tiny part of the top of the number
any more suggestions? -
