I have a CD-R that I keep downloaded programs on. For instance, I purchased WinFAX Pro by download and it, among others, is on the CD-R. I recently added a new program to the disk, and, as is my habit, I created a new directory for it. Now, all I see on the CD-R is that directory. All of the other data has become hidden.

I recording program is published by Stomp and is called RecordNow MAX.

I guess some index file must have become corrupted. I’m wondering what tricks are out there to help me get this data off of the CD-R and retreive it.

Any suggestions would be very greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot.

    Sincerely,

    Bob Harris brickwall

Something like this might help. Never used it myself, it’s just something I found whilst surfin’ around.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I downloaded the software, but before I had the opportunity to install it, Mark suggested IosBuster (see following post). That software is great.

        Thanks again for your suggestion.

Bob, you might also want to look into ISOBuster; it completely bypasses Windows when accessing a CD-ROM and is one hundred percent free.

        Hi Mark,
I found IsoBuster. Dynamite! It opened up all of this stuff beautifully.
This is the kind of software that I’m happy to pay something for. Having to replace some of the software that was buried in the hash would have cost a fair amount also.

        Thanks a lot!

You’re most welcome! Glad to hear it saved someone else’s skin… innocent

I’m not advocating conscience or anything, but I too felt the same way, and sent my contribution along to the author. Also did the same for Trillian, because of the numerous headaches that their wonderful piece of software alleviated!
