    Anyone have a fix for this? Sections 1-5 of a word document have their footers set to same as previous. I inserted a page number in the footer of section 1, as a roman numeral. Word is numbering the subsequent sections however pages 2-5 are regular numbers, not roman numerals…. so it looks like i., 2, 3, 4,5. I tried the capital roman numerals also… and same thing happens… Any guesses? or is the evil paperclippy messing with me… devil

      I can replicate that odd situation in Word 2002. Apparently, the page number formatting property of the section is not associated with the header/footer. You either can visit each section to make the change there, too, or, page numbering is continuous, select the entire document and:

      Insert>Page number>Format>[roman]>OK>Close

      (Someday MS really ought to integrate this with the Page Setup dialog.)

        Thanks. I had resolved it by taking off the same as previous on the first three pages and typing the number manually, however, pages 4 and 5 are a table of contents, which were automatically generated and update together. So I numbered those pages as one section and it seems that the page setup liked the fact that I was starting my page numbering from v. as opposed to i. The second page of the TOC was vi., as I had hoped. Paperclippy hasn’t won yet… groovin
