(Not sure if this falls under Safe Computing or General)
OK. I thought I had a fail-safe plan – I bought an external HD to store all my backup files – photos, music, setup files etc. I use Retrospect Express to copy specific folders and files weekly. I did this because I was tired of copying to CD, and even more tired of the time it took to backup everything if I wanted to do a clean-install. Now, to do a clean-install I simply run Retrospect and then start with the re-formatting. Retrospect can do it in a blink! Now the issue:
I read a horror story about someone who did exactly as I am doing and then lost both their computer HD and the external HD! Yikes, I never gave that a thought!
So, am I back at square one? Is the only safe way to make CDs? Ugh!
