    For someone who wants to send multiple zipped attachments that are greater than 25MB, what’s the best email service (or other way to accomplish the task)?

      Outlook.com allows 300 MB attachments if you use the associated SkyDrive account to store the attachments. Otherwise the limit is 100 MB.

        I didn’t explain my problem very well. I have Hotmail and don’t want to switch to Outlook; but the person trying to send me the large files has a Gmail account and an AOL account. His files zipped are over the limits to both email clients.
        Is there any other way to accomplish this task?

      Another way to do it would be to use a file sharing service (Dropbox,Skydrive, the google one which I don’t know the name) and share the files with you or provide links to a URL where they can be retrieved.

      I use http://www.yousendit.com/ for large files. It’s free for home use.

      I use the file transfer function in TeamViewer for fast, secure transfer of files of any size. There is a free version that does not require installation, just that both computers between which the transfer is occurring are running TeamViewer.

      If your looking to just send multiple or single large files, you should upload them to a site like: http://emailattachment.net/. Add a link in the email and then just send it. Its much simpler than bothering with email attachments. Anyway hope that helps.

      If you both have Skype, it too has a robust (will survive a reboot) file transfer facility.
      Last week I used it for a 15GB file transfer.

      I’ve sent BIG files to friends all over the world, without ever having to depend on email to send them.

      I zip up large files, like ISO’s and upload them to the FREE Server “Box.net”.
      Yes, it’s FREE, for the MB’s that most of us would ever need.

      Then you can just email the link to that file to any and all that you want to receive it and they can download it at their convenience,
      and more than once if necessary.

      Such links to helpful files sometimes wind up on forums like this one. The link stays good as long as the file remains on the server.
      I have around 30 files on my Box.net server that have been there for YEARS. I never know when I might want to share one with someone.
      Those files can be downloaded to anywhere in the world, anytime a person may need one. No email required.*

      * Many email programs will not allow any Executable file, as an attachment, and have definite Size Limitations on the files they do allow.

      The limit is not with the email client, it’s the underlying email system. Administrators can set any size limit they require and the global standard seems to be around 10 – 50MB. if your administrator sets a limit of 50MB per email you may still not be able to send large files because the receiver may have a limit of 10MB.

      p.s. A 9MB file attached to an email will probably produce an email around 13MB because the attachment has to be encoded using the email character set, which is not binary that a zip file would be.
