    This following could be part of the text in memo field.

    ====================================================================================================
    RATIONALE. HAHS and the Hunter Rural Division of General Practice (HRDGP) recognise the need to undertake a stakeholder consultation process and comprehensive needs assessment, to explore the concerns and service access issues of service providers (GP and hospital) and local rural communities. The HAHS will carry out consultations with rural GPs and Hospital Emergency Departments and are currently undertaking a major community consultation exercise across rural Hunter, as part of the development of its strategic direction for rural health services.

    METHODS. This project will conduct a telephone survey with a representative random sample of community members from rural areas in the Hunter serviced by the Hunter Rural Division of General Practice. The information gathered in the community survey will supplement information obtained in the stakeholder consultations and provide the HRDGP and HAHS with a clear indication as to the level of need and support for improved after hours access to health care. This information will be used to guide the development of a business plan for after hours service provision in rural areas of the Hunter

      It is almost impossible to get a good RTF output of an Access report. The RTFdocument does it’s best but something is always out-of-whack. Rules disappear, line spacing changes pulling the footers up about an inch or 2, memos get truncated because word-wrap is different but field “height” is fixed, hard returns appear, etc… Which is why Microsoft added the File…Export…Save As…Snapshot and the Snapshot Viewer. It’s like a PDF. It retains formatting, unlike RTF export.

      You’re probably going to have to compromise somewhere along the line. Microsoft does have a fix for the truncation problem with Memo fields in Access 2000 you can download:

          This issue interested me because I gave up on sending reports to Word – the formatting gets lost, but have been successful in writing them to the PDFWriter. I copied your text into a memo field and created an Access report (although not 600-700 pgs). The text printed in full to the PDFWriter, formatted just as it displayed in the report – lines stayed as lines and did not become paragraphs.

          Does the same thing happen if the report is only a few pages?

      Any Access report that is moderately complex will not cleanly export to RTF.

      I find that a RTF export normally requires extensive manual tweaking before it becomes usable.

      Consider creating your reports in Word (forget the access reports in this case) so you are only performing one set of maintenance. Place bookmarks at the points where you need to insert data, tables etc and populate the reports via VBA. Just move between bookmarks for the data that would normally populate the reports.

      If a section of the word document is not required select between bookmarks (section breaks) and delete.
