I have hit a bizarre problem with an Access database I have developed for a colleague who works in Rotterdam. On my PC I have no problems at all running the database.

However, when he runs it on his PC by double-clicking the icon, the application starts OK, but when he tries to open a particular form (which contains a subform), he gets a 2467 Run-time error – The expression you entered refers to an object that is closed or doesn’t exist. If he holds down the shift key when starting the database, and then runs the Autoexec macro, there are no errors at all – it all works OK.

I have checked the references & they are all OK, and I have made sure it compiles properly.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this might be happening, and what might be the solution ?

Thanks for the usual excellent help

    Nick

Which service pack level of Access 2003 do you have? And your colleague?
Does your colleague have the latest version of MDAC installed? (See MDAC Downloads)
Have you had your colleague check for missing references on his PC?

Thanks for that – I will check up with my colleague on that.

One more thing to try (it seems unlikely, but you never know): let your colleague set UK number format in his regional settings temporarily (i.e. point as decimal separator and comma as list separator/thousands separator)
