    broke
I have a report setup that uses a parameter Query to get info from a table with all of our job routings for work. We have about 1000 jobs and about 99 percent work fine. But with a few of the the info doesn’t show in the report.
If I run the query without the report its there but not with it.
I’ve tried reentering the jobs but it still does not show in the report.

Are you getting any error messages or what tips you off that some records are missing? If records don’t appear in a report it means that they don’t meet the criteria for the report. Check your report and make sure you aren’t applying any filters, etc. Also check your sorting and grouping to see which fields you’re grouping on. Then check those fields in the query to see if any of them are null. That would result in records showing up in an unexpected location in the report, which might make it appear they were missing.

There are no error messages. The table includes all the operations that we do on all our jobs. Each job may have up to 30 records, one for each operation that has to be performed to complete the job. Each record then has the pertinent info for that operation, furnace temperature, crew size, customer specifications, method and so on. So when we run a job we have to put a method sheet (the report in question) out on the floor to the men to doing the work. The same report is used all over the shop, but we use the parameter qry to pull up only the operation (record) that is used at that area of the shop.
So each report has only the record that we want for that operation.

When we run the other operations (records) for the same job they show show up on the report fine.
When it doesn’t work properly the report comes up with the requested job number showing and the requested Sequence which are part of the record but the balance of the infor shows blank.

As I mentioned before if I just run the qry without the report it shows up fine. Also same sequence (record) number shows up on other jobs. brickwall

All I can tell you is what I’ve learned from 10 years of working with Access–if data doesn’t show up in a report, there’s something wrong with the data. You’re saying that a job may have 30 operations and that one of the operations is not showing up for a particular job. That strongly suggests that you triple check the data for that operation, not the sequence number but the record itself. If everything else shows up fine and that one doesn’t, then start trying to figure out what’s different about that record. If the operation in question shows up in the query but not the report, is the query for all records or just for the job in question? If it’s for all records, filter it down to the job in question and see whether the operation is still there. Sometimes conflicting keys in a record can bite you in reports when you least expect it.

Can you find where the jobs should be on the report? Perhaps the info is there, but the way your sorting/grouping is defined has consolidated its data with that of another job?
