AKB3000001: Unable to print a PDF document

Sometimes a PDF document won’t print. Here’s a way to use Adobe Acrobat to “clean up” the problematic PDF document, to make it printable.
I scanned a huge paper document (over 100 pages long) at the copy machine, in order to convert it to PDF format. I successfully opened and viewed it in Adobe Acrobat. I then tried to print it, but it wouldn’t print. (I don’t recall the error message.)
I solved it by printing it to PDF. Doing so caused Adobe to go through the entire document, reading it and then recreating it as a new PDF document. I was then able to print the newly-generated PDF document without any problem.
In other words, I used Adobe Acrobat to “clean up” the problematic PDF document.
Why wouldn’t it print the first time? My guess is that there was a bug in the PDF generating program that the copy machine used. Fortunately that bug didn’t prevent me from opening and viewing the scanned document in Adobe Acrobat. Apparently there was no such bug in Adobe Acrobat, because Adobe Acrobat was able to print the document to a new PDF without a problem, generating a clean, error-free PDF document in the process.
