At some point my Command Window lost the section of its menu containing Edit, Defaults, and Properties.  It looks like the Command Window for Win95, or was it Windows3.1?

Opening in Administrator mode makes no difference.  It is incredibly frustrating to not be able to copy or paste or select from this window.  I wonder if anyone has heard of this and/or can help.

    Thanks
    Robin

Does select/copy/paste still work with the hotkeys?

(Paste is Shift-Insert like back in Windows 2.x … Copy is Ctrl-Insert)

Close command prompt, regedit, export HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console (the entire key) then delete it. Re-open command prompt – are your options restored?

Well, after a long interval I got time to go back to this.

First off, as an experiment I imported [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console] from another correctly functioning machine, with no problems and no change.

Finally I was able to run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth which ran to completion for the first time in months and months.  I followed that with SFC/Scannow which also ran to completion for the first time in months!

After a reboot, I now have the full Command Window Menu available again.  RELIEF!

      Regards

      Robin
