I just got a driver update (no typing error!):

    “Fortemeida – Extension – 3/19/2019 21:00:00 AM – 1.0.3.76
Successfully installed on 19-08-15” (today in my date format)

This seems to be the only update (besides a Definition update), but Windows wants to reboot.

Google shows some (very few) questions on “Fortemeida” but no answers. Is this https://www.fortemedia.com/ ? Is it legitimate?

I would prefer to have NO language processing on this computer whatsoever…

“Fortemeida” appears to relate to fmapp.exe

      I can’t say I’ve noticed it…

It could be the SAMSoft library in some form, and exist as described by Kirsty’s provided link.  The system board might also have Fortemedia’s integrated circuit product with microphone.

Or, sometimes Microsoft’s ‘AI’ and Windows 10 will provide driver updates even if the computer does not have the hardware or software device.

I cannot find your driver entry in the Microsoft update catalog, some of these weird offerings do not get uploaded there. All of the Fortemedia products are listed for that date are ‘Fortemedia – SoftwareComponent – 3/19/2019 12:00:00 AM – 12.1.6002.5765’ classified as ‘Drivers (Other Hardware)’.

In German, it matches your problem but is also an irresolute post.
