• Ac2000 invalid page faults

I’ve recently started developing in Ac2000, having spent some years coding in previous versions, mainly 97. My customers and I are finding Ac2000 unstable; specifically, when opening forms we sometimes (in my case several times a day) get:

MSACCESS caused an invalid page fault in
    module VBE6.DLL at 0177:65004f34.

It can be a recurring problem, such that one simply CAN’T open a form at all except in Design Mode; sometimes Compact and Repair helps, but not always. I’m using v 9.0.2720 (not SP1, I don’t think). Would applying SP1 help? Or are there KnowledgeBase articles or archived posts here that I should check for help? I’m not sure really where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello James: I found this kb article that may relate to your problem Q223206, hope that’s helpful.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth here. I have never encountered this problem on any of the Access 2000 installations I work on, so it isn’t a universal thing. Also, get the SR-1 (Woody has urged extreme caution in applying SR-2) and apply it. It cures a lot of other annoying problems with out-of-the-box Office 2000.

Thanks, both of you. I have some things to check now and will report back!
