In a database where the majority of buttons have been created using the wizard. Suddenly any button created to close does not work.

If you try to create the button manually in VBA not only does it not work but when you type docmd. the list of options does not appear. However in another database on the same pc there is no problem.

I have checked tools, references. But there are not missing libraries

Can anyone suggest what has gone wrong please?

    Thanks

    Roberta

      1. Do you get any errors if you select Debug | Compile in the Visual Basic Editor?
      2. Does a Compact and Repair help?
      3. Have you tried importing all database objects into a new blank database? You will have to set the startup options anew, and perhaps tick or clear some references.

I have tried everything you suggest. and also done a re-install of access! But when I import in in any form from the old database this messes up any VB buttons on any new forms I have created. I think we are going to have to move all the tables queries and reports and rebuild the forms.

Do you have any service releases installed? Do you have any 2002 applications on your machine? I’ve seen weird things happen before with 2000 pre-SR-3 when Office XP or any of the 2002 apps were installed on the same machine. SR-3 patched the Access executable to prevent problems with the vbe6.dll installed with 2002.
