    Accounting software

Does anybody know where to buy an accounting software based on Access ? We use an Access database and our database is very similar to the database Northwind traders, shipped with Microsfot Access 2000.We do need however an accounting software. We have not heard of an accounting software based on Access, only on Excel. We are ready to buy and also to pay for cusotmizing the product according to our specific neeeds.
We will be grateful for any advice as to how to find an appropriate seller.

DatabaseCreations (http://www.databasecreations.com) has such an Access-based software package; I think it is called “Yes, I can run my business” or “I can’t believe its not butter” or something like that. I’ve never looked at it, so I can’t tell you anything about it one way or the other. I do believe that you do get a maintainable .mdb file.

Access has one of its own.

      In Access go to Files/New
      Select the “Databases” tab
      Click “Ledger”

I have used this successfully for club accounting (with a few minor modifications.

Tony Mains has compiled a pretty good list of Access-based accounting packages at http://www.granite.ab.ca/accsacct.htm%5B/url%5D (edited by WendellB to activate link)

He also has tons of useful tidbits and tools.
