Activation Keys.

Hello.
I have dutyfully noted the keys for my Acer W-8 install. Not so for the Toshiba laptop. Is there a way to retrieve them as one could do with some programmes ? Thanks. JP.

Try Nirsoft’s ProduKey.

We’ll assume you checked the bottom of your laptop? There’s generally a Windows sticker there with your Activation key.

Hello, all.
Thanks to all who responded to this SOS. The keys are now printed and are safe-guarded. I should have done this on Nov 26th when first installing W-8 Pro.
At least now, the misstep is corrected. Great bunch here.

I tried this ProduKey. It gave up some keys for this Acer whose keys I had. They are different ! What can I make of this ? Jean.

Just keep the keys, and evaluate them if you ever need it, in the future.

A couple of other programs that will show product keys are Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and Speccy http://www.piriform.com/speccy

Thanks Joe S, the Speccy gave me the same keys again. They might be the ones to keep. I will give belarc a go, just for fun. Jean.

Strange, very strange. Belarc gives me the actual keys that were given to me after paying the cost of the license, not the same as Speccy. I now have them all committed to a page in Word 2k. One never knows. Again, thanks to all who responded. Jean.

With Microsoft the Activation Key is different from the registered License Key.
