Add the Sender’s Name from a Reply Message to the Address Book Automatically

When you reply to an e-mail message, you can automatically add the sender’s name to your Address Book.

    1. In Outlook or Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, click Options.
    2. On the Send tab, click Automatically put people I reply to in my Address Book.

Is it just me, or does this not work any more?? Or is it just hidden?

If I look under HELP, I am taken to an MS page advertising a third-party add-in from Sperry Software, Inc.. Was this feature removed from Outlook 2003? Thanks.

I certainly can’t see a “Send tab” in Outlook XP, nor any such option under either the application-level menus, nor the Reply message window menus, and the Outlook 2003 and XP menus are pretty close. The menu option exists in Outlook Express in the application-level menus. I suspect someone at Microsoft looked at Outlook Express, but didn’t test this advice in Outlook.

Ah… thanks. But, I swear it used to exist in Outlook 98 — not 97, but 98. I have used it for years. Then I upgraded to Windows XP!

Humorously, even the MS page above gets the information incorrect. This “feature” must have been removed somewhere between Outlook 98 and Outlook 2003.

        Thanks for the info. Cheers.

Edit: I made it through all the links. It was in 98 and 2000:

Yes, I think it was with 2003

See R2’s edit: the feature was only available in Outlook 98 and 2000 (internet mail only). It’s not in Outlook 2002.
