To search the address book for our company, it’s necessary that you know the individual’s firts name. Out of 1600, I know the first name of about 10. Is there a way to search with wildcards, etc.? Any assistance is aprreciated!

If you only know the surnames of the people, you should be able to do a quick search on these as well.

In the Standard toolbar, next to the Address Book icon, you should have the “Find a Contact” box. If you type in a surname in this area and hit it should bring up a list of possibilities from within the Global Address List. You can even type in a partial name (ie. Peter P or P Pan) and it will try and resolve that using all address books which are registered.

      Hope this helps.

      Hi Terry,

I don’t believe that you can search by company name in the “Find a Contact” box, but there are a couple of other things you could try that do not take too long.

While in your Contacts folder, click on the “Find” button on the Standard Toolbar (or press + i) and type in the company name. Have the search check all text within the contacts and it will even search through any notes that you have in your contacts. If you have all the company names entered this should now present you with a list of those contacts that have that company name listed.

Alternatively, you could try changing your view as View-Current View-By Company. Again, if you have all the company fields filled out correctly, it should be a simple job to find all the contacts that belong to the company.

      Hope this helps. smile
