InactiveOctober 16, 2017 at 3:25 pm #138217I have Flash disabled in the Edge browser and control panel has the Flash Player tab for updating grayed out. I assume that I do not have Flash on my computer (Win 10 Home). Is that a safe assumption? If I am right then I further assume that I do not need to go to the Adobe website to update.
Advice appreciated. And thanks to Woody and all of you.

Although they can be manually updated through the Adobe pages too…

AskWoody PlusOctober 16, 2017 at 7:44 pm #138254Chrome is my default browser on two Windows 7 machines. Nevertheless, just in case I need it, I keep Internet Explorer updated. To update the Active X version of Adobe Flash I set Internet Explorer as my default browser and then do the following:
>control panel>system and security>flash player>updates>check now
which takes me to the Adobe Flash update page where I following the instructions for updating Flash. After the installation is complete I reset Chrome as my default browser.
Alternatively, if I navigate to the Adobe Flash update page using Chrome the page recognizes that I am using Chrome and states that Flash is built in. However, there is a button that states “Need Flash Player for a different computer?” Clicking that button I can then select my operating system and the Active X version of Flash. Would doing this work as well as the more cumbersome way that I have been using to update Flash?
