    Hi Everyone,

Is there any difference between Adobe Reader 9.2 and Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.2?

    Thank you.

Adobe Reader is the read only app to read pdf files. Adobe Acrobat is the Adobe app that you use to actually generate pdf files. In order to generate or modify Adobe pdf files you must have Acrobat or another pdf file writer. I do not know if Adobe Acrobat Reader is even a legitimate app. I believe it’s either Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat

I believe that Acrobat Reader was the previous name that Adobe used for Adobe Reader but it never made it to version 9. Check Wikipedia for details.

I believe you are correct. A few years back, it was Adobe Acrobat Reader and obviously was very widely installed, so it became called just ‘Acrobat’. Confusion reigned as both the Reader and Acrobat were being called Acrobat.

So now we have Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat. However, I still find that Acrobat trips off the tongue when I mean Reader!

I have solved the confusion and ease-of-use and file size by using Foxit Reader instead fo Adobe(!)
