    Advanced Filter

Maybe you can help me use the Advanced Filter to do a unique filter of a list of 10 columns by 66 rows that has duplicates in it. My list has a header on each column, simply 1 thru 10. I find I can filter each column separately to a new location, that is 10 separate operations. But can it be done more directly in one operation.

    Thank you, Maurice

Please specify Excel Version & SR.

The advanced filter handles at least 10 columns.
But not knowing the criteria you setup it is difficult to make any comment. A simple example that fails to meet your expectations would help.
A common error in using the advanced filter is establishing the criteria properly. Are you using ‘AND’ or ‘OR’ column matches? . . .

      Hi Maurice,
If I understand you correctly, you want one final list that contains a unique entry for each possible value in each column in your original data, rather than a list containing data where each entire row is distinct? I don’t believe that that can be done using Advanced Filter – it treats each entire row as one record and so will only remove records where every column is the same as another record. You do need to treat each column individually if you want to simply remove duplicates from that one column.
I hope that makes some sense?

Yes a simple a simple unique list in any configuration of the whole list.

The attached workbook contains some examples using your data. Activate any data cell & then activate the advanced filter to see the options in sheets 1, 2 & 3.
On sheet 4, Cell A15 can be changed to any value within the matrix.

The explanation of what you want is really not to clear to me. Could you simply show what the results you would like to be. I work best by example. The advanced filter may not do what you want.
