I’m not sure I’m posting this the right place, but I am desperate for help and hope you guys will help me figure out where someone would have knowledge of this situation.

Yesterday I was doing rapid refreshes as a Vine reviewer at Amazon (I review products). I hadn’t done that before, and at the end of the day Amazon suddenly started asking for an identifying captcha.  But even after I typed it in, I’m not able to do much – no searches, no looking at cart, not even able to click the Contact Amazon button – I get a sorry something went wrong message and one of the Amazon dogs.

What I think is happening is Amazon’s bot software has decided I’m a bot and flagged my ip address.  I’ve tested from two different computers (on the same network) and two different browsers.  I can access normally on my iPhone.  I’ve spent hours on the phone with Amazon to no avail.  All their reps just look at the account and say everything is ok, and they have no idea what I’m talking about.  I have heard the block might stop in a day or two but do not know if this is true.  I took the suggestion of trying to change my internet IP address, but when I changed it in my ORBI Netgear software it couldn’t connect at all. Obviously, I’m out of ideas – any suggestions would be welcome!

They mean that you’ll need to use a VPN to change where your external IP address is located.  Don’t change the IP address in the router.

And don’t refresh – your actions indeed made you act like a bot.

Thank you Susan;  I just installed a VPN and all is well – after a day and a half of frustration!!!
