Someone told me that Excel ships with an add-in for performing amoritizations. She said it’s on the CD. I don’t have the CD here at work. we install from a push on the network. So, can anyone tell me if this is true? I see the analysis took pak under Tools, but I don’t see an Amoritization tool.

See if the SLN, SYD, VDB & DDB functions help; they are built into core XL97. (I’m assuming you mean amortization in the “depreciation” sense; if you mean in the “loan” sense there are a large number of financial functions which should apply.) The AMORDEGRC & AMORLINC functions in the Add-In Toolpak appear to apply to the French accounting system. In the US there are so many depreciation and amortization systems I doubt they are all built into Excel, and I’m not up to date on them.

Thanks. I’m not sure if that’s what she’s asking for. I showed her your reply. She seems to think it’s a wizard of some sort. I told her that the paste function acts like a wizard sort of. I asked her for more detailed information about what she wants.

        Thanks
