No mention of the length of support. 5 years? 10 years? Others?

I suppose we shall know in time.

Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.

      Preferred Minimum Requirements/Optional Minimum Requirements

The Windows IoT Enterprise preferred minimum requirements match the requirements for consumer general purpose devices where optimal performance and compatibility are required. Windows IoT Enterprise based devices have some flexibility from this system requirements bar for specialized devices. You must carefully consider deviating from this bar when producing specialized devices where software can be added to the device by the end customer. As an example, not offering a TPM can affect software that the end user would require, whereas using different storage devices typically only affect read and write performance. To enable Microsoft Security best practices out of the box, please refer to Edge Secured-core minimum requirements….

We designed Windows IoT Enterprise LTSC with these use cases in mind. We support each Windows IoT Enterprise LTSC release for 10 years, and ensure that features and functionality don’t change over the course of that 10-year lifecycle.

Thank you for your information. So it is mentioned in another document, quoting :

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 continues to offer a 10-year support lifecycle, which includes quality updates distributed via Windows Update monthly.

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 follows the Fixed Lifecycle Policy.

So I will probably do tests of this thing in VMware virtual machines after its release to see what it is. In particular, whether it still allows for installing to “unsupported” systems.

        Just saw this :
        https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/iot/iot-enterprise/Hardware/System_Requirements?tabs=Windows11LTSC

Apparently it still allows for installation to systems with system firmware BIOS in addition to UEFI, meaning that I should still be able to install it using BIOS and MBR partitioning.

Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.
