Not Server 2012 R2, but no issues here on Windows 8.1

maybe it’s caused by WSUS (if it’s installed)

      can’t confirm.

I just checked two 2012R2 test servers (one physical, one VM). KB4041693 installed without a problem, reboot, no CPU redlining.

None of our physical or VM hosted 2012 R2 servers are redlining after last weeks patches, and some of them also host WSUS.

They need to fire up PerfMon.exe and see which process is redlining them.  Troubleshooting starts there.

If this server is a WSUS server and w3wp.exe is the process that is pegging the CPU, then this scenario is described here and here.

I have Win 8.1 64 bit.  This last few days something has caused my computer to be running a lot because the fan has been going crazy.  I am not computer literate enough to exactly know why it was running so much.  I tried to download Process Explorer to check it out, but something went wrong and it will not come up to run.  I am frustrated with all of these problems.  Thank you.

No problems with KB4041693 on win8.1×64 (downloaded from MUC and installed alone before using WU).

Next the rest of them for Oct.
