• Assigning Tasks

Our company has Outlook 2000 on an exchange server with Windows 2000 Professional. Some of our groups can assign tasks to each other and others can’t. This message occurs “You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user.” You click OK and it adds the task to your task list as an assigned task. When you open the task it says “Waiting for a response from recipient.” Is this an administrator problem or is this something in Outlook? And how do you fix it?

admin side. you need permission to send on others behalf. either the admin can fix it or the groups members can add each other as delegates to heir profile and that may fix it.

We already tried to add to the delegates and that didn’t work. I thought it was admin also, but they keep telling me it is outlook.

everyone is each others delegate? then it’s the admin – you need send as permission set server side.
