Assigning the value in a named range to a shape (Excel)

Does anyone know if you can place the value of a named range into a shape (instead of just typing a static value in).

Click on the shape
in the formula bar enter an equal (=) and then enter the name of the range (or the cell reference) or just click on the cell that you want to link.
