Graphics shareware program captured all associations. Now when I receive a message as an attachment it will not open. Just returns to blank outlook preview screen. I Checked .eml association in folder options and seems to be associated with “C:Program FilesOutlook Expressmsimn.exe” which is what opens outlook express. Is there another program that should be here instead of msimn?

eml is the right one for messages, what is the attachment type that won’t open? that is where the problem is. what program did you install?

The attachments that will not open are email messages (.eml)that are attached or possibly forwarded via AOL. Messages forwarded using that command in Outlook Express appear in the body of received message. My problem is with .eml messages appearing in the attachment window. The body of the message is blank. When click on the attachment, just returns to blank preview screen of Outlook Express.

what do you see if you go to properties and view source? is the message text visible or is it garbage characters?

also, there is not another message attachment on the one that is blank? it’s a common problem that aol forwards to outlook and express as nested messages – you need to dig deep to find the one that started it all only to discover it’s spam you’ve seen before
