    Good day:
I am planning a series of interviews which I would like to record on a minicassette tape recorder. I’m told that I can transfer the contents of a minicassette to my computer using a cable from the output of the tape recorder to an audio input on the computer ( I hope that’s correct). However, I understand that I need to then convert these files into .WAV or some other format so that the computer can actually play them back, etc.
Are there any freeware programs out there that will do this?
Have I got the basic concept right or do I need to use something more modern than a minicassette – maybe a digital voice recorder( much more expensive). ?
    Any and all assistance appreciated.

Try this one CDex I’ve played with it but not fully tested it yet. It seems OK though.
