• August updates offered differed from ones expected

Running version 1909.  Win 10 64 bit system.  According to Woody I was looking for KB 4569073 (SSU), KB 4565351 (CU), and 4569751 (NET update).  Instead I was offered KB4565483 (CU) and KB 4562900 (NET update).  Was not offered a SSU.  I don’t understand why I was offered (and installed) different updates than I was expecting.  Does running a 64 bit system instead of a 32 bit system make a difference in the updates offered?

KB4565483 is the July Cumulative Update. You can install that and then see if you are offered the August patch. BTW, do you have Quality Updates deferred? That may be why you are not seeing the August patch yet.

The SSUs are bundled with the CUs, but they (SSUs) never show up in the Windows Update queue. The way to check it they are installed is to look in “Installed Updates” instead of the Update History.

KB4562900 is the July “Preview” .NET update. We do not recommend installing Preview patches. Try hiding it with wushowhide.

Thanks PKCano.  I did have Quality Updates deferred for 15 days.  I changed it to “0” days.  Do you think that will resolve the problem the next time around?  I don’t know how to check and see if the August patch is now offered other than use wushowhide.   I ran that and it shows a number of intel updates but no August CU.  (By the way, should I install the numerous intel updates when appropriate or hide them?)   I may just have to wait until Woody gives the OK to install the September patches and hope I get the August and September CU at that point.  I think I have been a month behind in installing quality updates since I purchased this computer 6 or so months ago.  Anything else I need to change or do to get on a current track?
